Key Concepts

Understanding the building blocks of AgileTune will help you get the most out of the platform.

Organizations

An Organization is the top-level entity in AgileTune. It contains all your projects, members, and billing settings. Most teams have one organization, but you can create multiple if needed (e.g., personal and work).

Projects

A Project represents a product, app, or initiative your team is working on. Each project has its own board, tasks, members, and settings. Projects live inside an organization.

Boards

Every project has a Board — a visual workspace for tracking tasks. AgileTune supports two board types:

  • Kanban — continuous flow with columns like To Do, In Progress, Done
  • Scrum — sprint-based with backlog, sprint planning, and velocity tracking

Tasks

A Task (or issue) is a unit of work. Tasks can have a title, rich-text description, assignee, labels, priority, due date, story points, and subtasks. Tasks move across board columns as they progress.

Environments

Environmentslet you track where code is deployed. AgileTune supports stages like Development, Staging, and Production, so your team always knows what's live.

Roles & Permissions

AgileTune uses a role-based access control system:

  • Owner — full control over the organization
  • Admin — manage projects, members, and settings
  • Member — create and manage tasks within assigned projects
  • Viewer — read-only access to projects
